Syrian authorities seize 850,000 narcotic pills in anti-smuggling operation

Syria’s Drug Enforcement Department said it foiled an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of narcotics from Lebanon during a security operation in al-Nabk area of Damascus countryside.

The department said the operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of 850,000 narcotic pills.

The Authorities said investigations into the case are underway and that legal measures are being taken against those involved.

On July 20th,the Drug Enforcement department seized nearly half a ton of hashish after foiling an international drug-smuggling attempt in the southeastern countryside of Sweida province.
