Syria seizes Captagon, hashish in Aleppo anti-drug operation

(SANA) Syria’s Drug Enforcement Department seized 61 kilograms of hashish, about 220,000 Captagon pills and 700 grams of crystal methamphetamine during an operation in Aleppo, arresting two suspects, the department said Thursday.

Officers carried out an ambush in Aleppo’s al-Suryan neighborhood that led to the arrest of the two suspects and the seizure of the drugs. The Captagon pills weighed a total of 37 kilograms, according to the department.

The suspects were referred to judicial authorities for further legal action.

The operation came days after authorities announced another drug seizure in Kafr Karmin, in the Atarib area west of Aleppo, where two people suspected of trafficking large quantities of drugs were arrested Monday.
