Syrian, Qatari oversight bodies discuss institutional cooperation

Doha, Sept. 19 (SANA) Head of the Central Authority for Supervision and Inspection Amer al-Ali and his accompanying delegation met on Saturday with President of Qatar’s Administrative Control and Transparency Authority Hamad bin Nasser al-Misnad in Doha, Qatar to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in oversight, integrity and transparency.

The two sides discussed prospects for developing institutional cooperation and benefiting from their respective experiences and expertise to improve oversight mechanisms, enhance their efficiency and strengthen their role in promoting integrity and transparency.

The Syrian delegation also reviewed Qatar’s experience in implementing the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The two sides discussed ways to draw on this experience to promote integrity and transparency in institutional work, along with modern mechanisms and practices related to improving oversight performance and capacity building.

The visit comes ahead of the sixth session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arab Convention against Corruption in Doha, in which the Central Authority for Supervision and Inspection is participating as Syria’s official representative.
