The Syrian Minister of Communications, Abdul Salam Heikal, discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science, Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Korea, Bae Kyung-hoon, opportunities for cooperation in developing digital infrastructure and building scientifi and technical capabilities, on the sidelines of the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology in the capital, Seoul.
The Syrian Ministry of Communications stated that Heikal presented during the meeting the Syrian program for developing communications infrastructure, and its role in improving services, expanding access to the Internet, preparing the basis for digital transformation, and developing a technological industry that provides new work and investment opportunities for Syrian youth.
The meeting also discussed the advanced sciences path launched by the Ministry of Education, and the importance of integration between developing digital infrastructure, investing in education, and preparing competencies capable of developing technology and its applications.
