Shueitat tribe fighters demand arms to defeat ISIS east Syria

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Shueitat Battalions announced their readiness to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Deir Ezzor and al-Raqqa if they were given enough arms, even without airstrikes.

The declaration came from the Battalions’ leader, who stays in Istanbul, as he explained that Battalions had been trying to get arms to revenge from the Islamic State. He express his confidence of defeating the state, as many sleeper-cell are waiting the sign to start, and they are able to do damage and affect on the Islamic state more than the US-led coalition’s airstrikes.

Moreover, Shueitat’s leader explained that military power and size of the Islamic State “ISIS” had been inflated for international causes in the region.

The hostility between the Islamic State “ISIS” and Shueitat tribes that counts around 70 thousand people and based in the Eastern Countryside of Deir Ezzor, started a while ago, when the state controlled al-Raqqa, and took over two oil fields in July this year, beside beheading 700 members of the tribe, most of them civilians, and almost 100 were fighters.
