Assad forces mobilize troops to overrun Kafr Zeita, north Hama

HAMA (Zaman Al Wasl)-  A week after seizing control of Morek town in the northern countryside of Hama province, Syrian regime forces are mobilizing troops to overrun the neighboring town of Kafr Zeita, Zaman al-Wasl reporter said.

Kafr Zeita, the stubborn rebel stronghold for over two years, is facing an imminent threat to fall down as militants loyal to Bashar al-Assad are gathering from the next-door Alawite villages to join fighting against al-Qaeda Syria’s wing Nusra Front and other Islamic factions.

The last few weeks witnessed heavy offensive by Assad’s forces backed by Lebanese Hezbollah movement and National Defence on the northern countryside of Hama.

Pro-regime activists lauded the ‘bravery’ of Colonel Suhail al-Hassan, Assad’s sincere man and Hama Operations Commander for his rapid advances.

Clashes in Hama Front have sparked after long calm between Assad's forces and rebels in the historic province which had witnessed bloody clashes and memorable protests at the beginning of Syrian uprising in 2011.

Meanwhile, more than 191,000 people killed and over 10 million forced to flee their homes.
