(Zaman Al Wasl)- Ahmad Kassab Masalmeh, a Jihadi icon, was assassinated last Monday in mysterious circumstances in Horan, according to local activists.
Masalmeh, known as Abo Muhammed Harasta, had had a long history of resistance and Jihad, started in 1978 when he joined the "fighting Pioneers", to leave after 3 years to Jordan then to Iraq in 1984.
4 years later, in 1987 he went to Afghanistan to fight against the previous “Soviet Union” and worked with many Jihadi icons there like Abdullah Azzam, Usama Bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri.
In 2012, he came to Jordan then to Turkey, to work as a guide and reference for Jihadi battalions, in Horan, where he tried to find causes for problems and tried to find solutions.
Masalmeh thinks that deterioration in Jihadi achievements was a result of lack of honesty and penetrating fighting group by many informers for Syrian regime.
