Senior opposition figures from new bloc to supervise, monitor Coalition

ISTANBUL (Zaman Al Wasl) - A new bloc within the Syrian National Coalition to be announced soon, with aim to revive the national role of the key opposition group to serve the people and the revolution, source told Zaman al-Wasl.

“The National Rally is not a substitute for the Coalition, but it seeks to take a monitoring and supervisory role in order to bring back the essential role of NC as a national institution founded to serve Syrians’ revolution,’’ source said.

The Rally demands for a revolution government instead of the current interim one. "A government which can fulfill hopes and aspirations of the Syrian people,” the source added.

Veteran opposition figures among the founders of the Rally as Mohamed Farouk Tayfur, former head of Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood, Riad Seif, Suheir Atassi, Michel Kilo, and Ahmed Ramadan.
