200 families live in primitive camp, north Homs

Reporting by Maher Radhwan; Translation by Yusra Ahmed

HOMS (Zaman Al Wasl)-  Many people from Homs’s countryside were forced to leave their regime-held villages in the northeastern countryside of Homs, to live in primitive camp near Zafarana village.

The camp accommodates almost 2000 people, of 200 families with lacks of minimal services. All of people came from Mosherfa, Ain Dananir and Oyon-Hissein villages. They left their villages to save their lives after Shabiha committed a massacre in Oyon-Hissein village two years ago because they supported the Syrian revolution.

Many residents of the camp reported to Zaman al-Wasl that they left their homes because of assault and harassment they were subject to by Shabiha besides fearing for their lives after the massacre.

People in the camp requested Zaman al-Wasl to deliver their wishes to have frequent food-Baskets and fuel to warm themselves in winter, besides medication for people with chronic diseases and minimal furniture for the school.

They mentioned that Interim government had only provided them with stationery for the recent year and one teaching session.

They gratefully revealed that bread is provided by the local council in Talbisah.
