(Zaman Al Wasl)- Hamas armed wing in Syria killed dozens of Palestinian militia loyal to Bashar al-Assad last week in the embattled Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus, commander said.
The footage, which posted online last week by ‘Aknaf Beit al-Maqdes’ Battalions, showed its fighters sneaking underground to the base of ‘Fatah al-Intifada’ militia in the camp with an explosives-laden barrel. Later, dozens were killed and wounded due to the exposition, official said.
Ahmed Abu Bashir, General Commander of Aknaf Beit al-Maqdes, told Zaman al-Wasl that the attack was carried out in retaliation for the sever siege imposed by regime forces and its backed Palestinian armed groups as ‘Fatah al-Intifada’ and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command militias (PFLP-GC).
Bashir accused ‘Fatah al-Intifada’ of cutting off the water on the families of the blockaded camp.
The water has been cut off for the 71th day in a row in Al-Yarmouk camp, Syrian Network for Human Rights says.
At least 10, 000 families in the camp are facing the risk of death from thirst and epidemics if the water cut-off continues, Palestinian Association for Human Rights warned last month.
