(Zaman Al Wasl)- Lebanese authorities ordered Syrian and Palestinian refugees who live in al-Marj camp to leave it within 48 hours because its close to military base, activists said on Sunday.

The Palestinian Committee for Human rights in Syria appealed to human rights organizations to help in stopping the decision and issued a statement, which explained that people in the camp were informed to evacuate the camp, because it is close to a military point, and that decision would be applied on other camps.

“Even the Municipality could not do anything to stop the decision which told people to leave the camp next Monday” the statement added.

The camp was founded in 2012, where people live in traditional tents, which was replaced by concrete tents with the help of some international organization. “Almost 300 people lived in the camp, most of them children and elderly are about to become homeless and face cold winter in open-air” the statement detailed.

The small camp (42 tents) was built in al-Marj village in West Bikaa, with majority of Palestinian refugees who fled  Yarmouk camp in Damascus, and the rest from Damascus’s countryside.
