(Zaman Al Wasl)- As coming reports from Deir Ezzor air base affirm heavy losses amid Syrian regim forces, people of the Alawites-dominated city of Masyaf have demonstrated for the first time on Monday, demanding to know fate of their relatives and sons.

Families of Masyaf city in Hama province have expressed their concerns after reported news of the possibility of controlling Deir Ezzor’s airport by the Islamic State (IS).

Most families are scared of  al-Tabaqa airport's scenario, where dozens of soldiers of the Syrian national Army were killed, especially with the negligence that Syrian regime showed towards their sons’ lives.

Local activist told Zaman al-Wasl that tension and anger prevailed the Alawites-dominating city and people expressed their disappointment of the regime’s attitude toward their sons and its soldiers, while it gave the whole interest to others.

The source confirmed that the loud sounds and slogans forced the security and military forces to fire in air to disperse demonstrators.

Some unconfirmed news about fire exchange between the regime’s forces and the residents after forcing them to return homes.

Battles around Dier Ezzor’s airport have been intense for 4 days after series of attacks by the Islamic State with possibility to control it.
