(Zaman Al Wasl)- The National Campaign to Combat Epidemics in the city of Aleppo on Thursday said scabies and lice have become a rampant disease which consider as an epidemic should be combat immediately.
The campaign official, in video statement posted online, described the situation as a humanitarian disaster, urging all health and relief organizations to intervene.
The statement demanded Opposition Interim Education Ministry to stop the educational process in rebel-held Aleppo for one week in order make the proper precautions and to stop the infection.
The epidemic, which is spreading rapidly in the schools, has hit high levels in Old Aleppo city, al-Soukkary, Bustan al-Qasr and al-Kallash neighborhoods.
The statement called on all people including the rebel factions to provide support and aid, and to provide basic services of water and electricity to the affected neighborhoods, as well do a cleaning campaign and moving all rubbish out of the city.
