(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime started new kind of punishment against Homsi people by demolishing their homes, under claims of violation the law of building and owned by terrorists, while the implicit reason that they want to punish rebels and opposition figure.
Sources reported to Zaman al-Wasl that the Military security had forwarded orders to Nazim Tayara, the Head of City Council in Homs, to demolish particular buildings and properties under accusation of being owned by terrorists.
Sources expected that regime’s security forces managed to get information about opposition’s figures and their properties from prisoners under torture.
They confirmed that dozens of houses had been already demolished and wiped out, claiming of violation of the building criteria set by the municipality and the city council.
“Regime turns the blind-eye to illegal buildings in loyal neighborhoods, moreover, they are provided with electricity and water, besides good infrastructure”, residents reported.
Eye witnesses confirmed demolishing many houses in old Homs, owned by rebels and opposition figures.
Abo Adham, from Bab al-Draib, was affected of the procedure, as his house was demolished under accusation of violation and rules, because an extension was built at the roof without the municipality's permission, despite the matter was old, and such violation required financial penalty only.
Abo Adham revealed that when a house was owned by a rebel, the whole building would be demolished, like what happened to him, as a flat claimed to be owned by a rebel, therefore the 3-levels building was destroyed and demolished.
Iyad from Salibat al-Asiani had the same punishment as his house was demolished under official claims of violation the building law, while the hidden reason was a small shop and grocery owned by a rebel in the ground level.
“I was happy to return to my neighborhood and my home and get free of renting, however, now I am homeless again” Iyad detailed painfully.
In a relevant content, many Homsi opposition facebook pages and social media websites revealed that the Municipality of Homs controlled by Assad regime targets houses of Homsi people who ran away and were forced to leave because of shelling.
