Dozens of Assad soldiers reported killed in Jobar

(Zaman Al Wasl)- About 40 Syrian army soldiers were killed by Islamist rebels on Sunday in Jobar neighborhood in Damascus, rebel commander said.

Mohamed Abu Kamal, press officer of ‘al-Rahman Legion’ told Zaman al-Wasl that the group fighters have thwarted attacks of Bashar al-Assad forces.on the embattled neighborhood after fierce clashes led to killing and wounding dozens.

Abu Kamal says rebels have killed about 40 soldiers during the attack, 15 of them were killed by an explosive device detonated inside their barrack.

Rebels aslo have destroyed two tanks and recaptured checkpoints controlled by Assad forces, Abu Kamal said.
