Turkey moved 40 Syrian families to makeshift settlement due to snow storm

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Turkish authorities on Thursday have moved more than 40 Syrian families from Atemh refugee camp to makeshift settlement on its land as the snow storm is forecast to last several days.

Zaman al-Wasl reporter said the Turkish ambulances moved more than 40 refugee families to Turkey due to the snow storm sweeping Middle east.

The storm has already taken its toll on Syrian refugees in whole region, who are facing freezing temperatures, heavy snow, hail, rain and thunderstorms.

Activists and media outlets said 5 Syrian people, including 4 children, died of hypothermia in Syrian and Lebanon refugee camps.

Snow caused several tents to collapse, as refugees tried to keep warm inside their unheated shelters by burning lumber and waste paper, according to Lebanese Daily Star.
