ISIL oil income is lowest in last 6 months

Oil income of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant is at its lowest in the past six months due to the U.S-led international coalition’s airstrikes, Iraqi parliament members have said Tuesday.

ISIL will be in a bad financial situation as its current dailyoil income now is between $500,000 and $750,000 due to the coalition’s airstrikes, according the Iraqi intelligence security reports,” said Mowaffak al-Rubaie a member of the security and defense committee of the Iraqi Parliament.

“ISIL’s daily income from oil was $3 to $5 million in June 2014 after it seized control of several oil wells in northern provinces of Iraq,” al-Rubaie said.

Moreover, the reports indicate that ISIL’s assets amount to $2 billion dollars in total.

According to the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights, ISIL has also sold about 5,000 Ezidi women for slavery. The price of an Ezidi woman is estimated to be $500, according to reports and eyewitnesses.

The Iraqi security forces continually attempt to recapture areas which are under ISIL’s control.

The U.S. is leading an international coalition that has carried out numerous airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria since the militant group took over Mosul, in northern Iraq, in June 2014.
