(Zaman Al Wasl)- Many civil
associations in the embattled Yarmouk refugee camp for Palestinian refugees in Damascus
appealed on Wednesday to the United Nations, and the Palestinian Liberation
Organisation (PLO) and all humanitarian bodies in the world to rescue the camp
and its people from the humanitarian crisis they face.
The appeal requested all to look
to the tragedy of Yarmouk’s people who die from hunger, thirst and cold because
of severe siege by Syrian regime and other Palestinian militias loyal to regime
who prevent anything from entering the camp, like medicine, food and fuel.
The appeal came as a result of
the unbearable living conditions in the camp, especially after closing the last
crossing point to the Yarmouk a month ago, coincided with preventing the UNRWA
from distributing food and other aid and relief materials because regime
prohibited it from practicing its role in the camp.
“We are people deserve life, rescue us please, rescue us, may Yarmouk camp enjoys peace, security and stability” the statement ended.
