Alloush mocks Assad says he lifts curfew on Damascus until further notice

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Islam Army group on Sunday has pounded Damascus neighborhoods by more than 100 rockets, killing 10 civilians and 5 troopers, according to Zaman al-Wasl reporter.

Katyusha missiles and hand-made rockets of Sahm al-Islam have targeted what Islam Army claimed security bases in Kafr Sousa suburb and the upscale neighborhood of al-Maliki besides the Alawite-dominated district of Mezzah 86.

In retaliation, Syrian regime air force carried out violent raids on Eastern Ghouta suburbs of Douma, Zebdin and Jobar.

Zaharan Alloush, the commander of the Islamist faction which controls Eastern Ghouta suburbs, vowed in statement posted online on Friday to storm the Syrian capital by missiles he controlled from Syrian air defense forces, demanding ‘Muslims, to stay at home and not going to their work. Alloush said "I will not attack mosques, churches and schools."

‘’Alloush’s reprieve ended on Sunday, ‘’so he fulfilled his promise,’’ opposition activists said via social media.

Alloush said sarcastically in his official Twitter account on Sunday evening that he lifted the curfew on Damascus until further notice.”

Islam Army commander also said that rockets hit Dumeir military air base and a military base in al-Qutaifa in Damascus countryside

The Syrian crisis began nearly four years ago with an uprising against Bashar al-Assad and then turned into a civil war. So far, 220,000 people have been killed.
