(Zaman Al Wasl)- The National Coalition’s Embassy in
Doha has announced officially launching the process of renewing expired Syrian
passports starting 29th January 2015, restricted to Syrians in Qatar only as a
first step.
The Embassy explained that renewing application and
other documents can be downloaded from the Embassy’s facebook page, and
provided a landline phone number for queries.
Zaman al-Wasl closely covered the development of
granting renewing Syrian passports in the Coalition’s Embassy and published
details about the new renewing stickers. Moreover, the newspaper demanded the Ambassador
to explain reasons behind delaying the process.
The National Coalition’s Embassy confirmed that
renewing stickers carry official and recognized logo according to international
criteria. He stressed that renewal process is official because it is issued by
an official and internationally recognized body as a legal and only
representative of Syrians.
Al-Hiraki had previously explained that the embassy had
officially communicated and sent a sample of the stickers to 52 countries in
Europe, Asia and Africa, the United nations UN, the Arab League, European
Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Gulf Cooperation Council.
The Embassy had not received any reply or rejection from any country, except
Canada which disagreed.
