Renewing Syrian passports in Doha suspended: Opposition leader

(Zaman Al Wasl)- The President of the National Coalition for Revolutionary Forces and Opposition, Khalid Khoja revealed that a team of experts have been sent to the Coalition’s Embassy in Doha to evaluate the legality of procedures being taken by the Embassy to renew expired Syrian passports.

 Khoja told Zaman al-Wasl that they requested the coalition’s representative in Doha, Nizar al-Hiraki to put the renewing process on hold till experts in international law evaluate the international acceptance of the renewing to avoid troubles for overseas Syrians.

The Coalition’s President mentioned that Dr. Hisham Marwa, the President’s deputy, is following the matter with cooperation with the Coalition’s Embassy in Canada. The process of renewing expired Syrian passports has been put on hold till legally evaluated.
