Ahrar Al Sham kills 75 troopers in Zabadani: statement

(Zaman AL Wasl)- Ahrar al-Sham rebel group has thwarted Syrian forces’ attack on Dhour Wardeh checkpoint in rebel-held city of Zabadani, killing 50 troopers, according to statement posted online on Sunday.

The Islamist movement of Ahrar al-Sham also said 23 soldiers were killed days ago during the battles of Dhour Wardeh, the strategic checkpoint in the mountainous region that overlooks on the Lebanese borders.

Zabadani town and neighboring villages have witnessed sporadic skirmishes recently, activists said.

The battlefront is not that active all the time due to the geographical location where rebel are surrounded by regime forces and Iran’s proxy Hezbollah militia who controls Bekaa Valley and all frontiers with Syria.
