(Zaman Al Wasl)- A senior rebel commander was assassinated on Thursday in the eastern suburbs of Damascus by al-Qaeda’s Syria wing, a according to rebel group statement.
The Islamic Union for Ajnad al-Sham has accused the Nusra Front of killing its military commander, Abu Zeid al-Qannas, in the Eastern Ghouta suburbs.
The spats have been escalated last Tuesday when al-Ajnad had accused Nusra of carrying out an assassination attempt against Abu Naeem Yaqoob, Sham Battalions' commander.
Nusra has denied involving in such acts, saying there is no conclusive evidence.
