(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 28 rebel factions operating in the southern province of Daraa, vowed to roll back regime forces from Qarfa and Namer villages said Tuesday.
The statement came in response to a visit paid by the Head of the powerful Syrian Political security, Gen. Rustum al-Ghazali, to Qarfa village, regime's strategic stronghold, and to his hometown of Khirbat Ghazaleh. Rebels have considered this visit as a provocation, saying they will storm Qarfa and Namer villages and all military bases very soon.
Most rebels of Daraa, who are fighting to topple Bashar al-Assad, belong to the Southern Front, which includes some 30,000 fighters from more than 55 mainstream opposition groups operating from the Jordanian border to the outskirts of Damascus and the Golan Heights.
Syria's conflict, now in its fourth year, has killed more than 220,000 people and caused millions to flee.
