Assad regime mobilized its forces yesterday on
all security barriers of Damascus, a day after gains made by FSA in east Damascus,
activist said to Zaman Alwasl.
Moreover, the regime checkpoints implemented a thorough
inspection on citizens' identity cards and their cars.
Two days ago, more than 24 military formations in
the East Ghouta issued a statement announcing the unification of brigades and
battalions on the Eastern Front to enter Damascus.
The first operations were in the
neighborhood of Jobar Damascus near the abbassiyeen garages. Also fierce
clashes erupted in al-Qaboun and Barzeh after the Assad regime bombardment. The
southern neighborhoods of the capital were bombarded by regime mortars and
artillery too.
The British-Based Human Rights
Observatory said that clashes continued in the Ma'amel area north of Jobar,
reports that rebels have surrounded the conscription centre.
The Observatory said that Regime
forces went on raids and arrests in the al-Sakhna square and the Shaikh Sa'ad
neighbourhood in al-Mazzeh.
Regime forces detained several
residents at the checkpoint of al-Yarmouk refugee camp which has been blocked
off and people are being denied entrance.
According to information received from
Syrian Revolution Martyr Database, at least 5,840 people were killed in
Damascus since March 2011.
