Syria's opposition to establish intelligence department

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syria's opposition group the National Coalition seeks to establish its own military intelligence department soon which will be affiliated to the Interim Defense Ministry, source says.

The source revealed that the new intelligence services will have a great interest by the key opposition group and it will operate in coordination with Coalition head and the Interim Prime Minister.

The squad of the new department will be formed of former intelligence officers, commissioners, informers and agents who defected the Syrian regime after the revolution erupted in March 2011.

Gen. Salim Idriss, Defense Minister, will provide a detailed report about the new department on Friday during the Coalition's meeting.

The source assured that many confidential reports had been made.
