(Zaman Al Wasl)- Dr. Mohammed Hikmat Walid, the new Supreme Leader of Muslim brotherhood, who was seen as came out of blue, does not agree on that perception. “I have been a member of Muslim Brotherhood for years, a member of Shoura Council for many rounds, and I was the Deputy of the a former Supreme Leader but I have resigned only two years ago when I formed “Waad” Party” he details.

He does not agree to the idea that Muslim Brotherhood marginalizes youth from leadership, the proof of that he has appointed Hosam al-Ghadban, who still young man as a deputy of Supreme Leader.

The Leader confirms that youth would get their rights and positions they deserve in the party during his leadership.

In regard to “Waad Party” the National Party for Justice and Constitution, the leader confesses that it has not grown or developed as it was planned, but still it has some effort on ground, and many people joined it, besides it has a headquarter in Gaziantep. He does not think that Party is a copy of the Turkish Party of Justice and Development.

Dr. Walid explains that “Waad” is a party for the middle class people in Syria, it is against any blocs as all Syrians need to work together, religious and secular people. “We do not agree with the theme: religion is people’s drugs, or the opposite one: Democracy is apostasy, we are happy to work together with seculars as long as they do not have any conservations against religion”

The New Supreme Leader says to Zaman al-Wasl that he left the leadership of Waad Party because he was chosen for the Supreme Leader position for Muslim Brotherhood and he cannot do both jobs together.

Dr. Walid denies the idea that Muslim Brotherhood control the National Coalition and the Interim Government: “How can that happen if only 4 out of 114 members of the Coalition are from Muslim Brotherhood”

The Supreme leader contradicts the idea that Muslim brotherhood prefer Muslims of any other nationality to Arab or Syrian Christians. “Muslim brotherhood are Muslims, Arabs and Syrians, we have common bounds with Muslims all over the world, we are Arab besides we share the geography with all Syrians of all beliefs, there is no need for all those belongings to contradict with each other” explains.

Mohammed Hikmat Walid finds that Islamic State is a temporary phenomena and would fade away once the regime is gone, as regime is still the main enemy to the Syrian Revolution.

The Supreme leader explains that Islamic State has deviated the Syrian revolution’s track from fighting the regime and suppression into fighting Terrorism, and that what the regime wanted from the beginning. He adds that happened via a deal between Iran and USA to sort out the Iranian nuclear weapon to in return keep Assad’s regime and other sectarian militias like Hezbollah and other militias in Iraq and Lebanon. “All that is being done to protect Israel from any threat, while Syrian, Iraqi and Yemeni people pay the heavy price”

In regard to fighting the Islamic State, Muslim Brotherhood’ Supreme Leader reveals that deep ideological differences exist between them and the Islamic State, but those differences would be sorted out via dialogue. “But if the Islamic State has not had the will to negotiate and we were attacked, we would defend ourselves”

The leader does not agree with any solution prolonging the regime’s ruling of Syria, like the option of Common Government for a transitional period under Bashar al-Assad leadership.

The leader does not see that deep differences exist between Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Syria, as they both part of one a global party, but still there are minor differences, especially after the Syrian branch relied on Shiekh Yusuf Qaradawi’s Sharia reviews. The leader sees that Syrian and Tunisian Muslim Brotherhood are close to each other.

In regard to the relationship between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Gulf Countries, the Supreme leader forwards four messages to gulf countries: Muslim Brotherhood have not been against any gulf country, to contrary, they protected the party’s members during its difficult time like Jamal Abdul Naser and Assad’s suppression in Eighties. The other message was a gratitude for the Saudi Arabian and Qatari support to the Syrian Revolution. In his third message, he explains that that Gulf security is connected to the Syrian’s, as if Syria fell down, the Iranian threat would increase on Gulf countries. In the end he wishes that Saudi Arabia and other gulf countries to review their attitude toward Muslim Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood’ leader expresses his wishes for the National Coalition under Khalid Khoja’s leadership to have real development and mending to be more effective, away from political polarization.

In the end, the Supreme Leader summarizes their priorities as they aim to deepen the communication with people inside Syria and to be closer and more effective to people's revolution.

“Any Muslim of moderate ideology can join the party, but he would go through many steps, we are advocatory group wants good for all” ends.
