Islam Army's mediation halts rebel infighting south Damascus

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A ceasefire reached Sunday between the Nusra Front and Sham al-Rasoul brigade in suburbs of Babila and Beit Sahm south of Damascus after two days of fierce infighting that killed dozens of fighters and civilians, activists told Zaman al-Wasl.

Islam Army's mediation succeeded to halt the infighting between al Qaeda Syria's wing and local rebel group of Sham al-Rasoul, activists said, denying previous reports said Abu Ammar, commander of Sham al-Rasoul was arrested by Nusra.

The intense situation resulted of the repeated abuses by al Qaeda Syria's wing has pushed both people and rebels of the embattled suburbs of Babila and Beit Sahm to ask Nusra to leave to avoid bloodshed.

Two days ago, 1500 people went to the street after Friday Prayer protesting against Nusra's practices and abuses.
