(Zaman Al Wasl)- Islamist rebels on Monday have recaptured strategic Handarart village in the northern front of Aleppo, as a fierce fight still under way to take control of a military base nearby, activists said.
Ahrar al-Sham movement and al Qaeda Syria's wing, the Nusra Front, backed by other rebel groups have controlled three days ago parts of the strategic Tal Handarat and al-Madhafa after fierce battles with Bashar al-Assad forces and its allied Shiite militias.
Syrian rebels stressed the importance of Handarat area as a main supply route for Assad forces.
