BEIRUT (The Daily Star)- A Syrian man accused of forging official documents was arrested by security forces, Lebanon’s General Security announced Saturday.
General Security forces raided an office in Beirut’s Hamra district where they found “electronic devices and seals used in forging Syrian documents,” according to a statement released Sunday.
The man behind the operation confessed during interrogations to forging documents for Syrian nationals.
The suspect, who is currently in the custody of General Security, has been referred to the judicial authorities.
General Security has also launched investigations to determine the identities of accomplices participating in what it described as a “forgery network” in Lebanon.
