New Mass Torture photos for Assad loyalists: Zaman Al Wasl


 Zaman al-Wasl newspaper publishes new 5 photos of mass torture for pro-Bashar al-Assad militants by Syrian intelligence services that illustrate apparent actions of serious international crimes, according to human rights advocates.
Assad's fellow Alawite fighters have made the backbone of militias fighting to defend Syrian regime. But the leaked torture photos showed number of them among torture victims.
More than 70,000 fighters loyal to Assad have been killed since the Syrian revolution erupted in March 2013, according to activists.

The atrocious photos of mass torture by Syrian security had been taken between 2011 and mid 2013 in the well-known 601 military hospital in Mezzah neighborhood of Damascus.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights, in report issued last September, said at least 215,000 people were arrested by Syrian security since the revolution erupted in March 2011. (4500 of them are women and 9,000 are less than 18).
According to the report, 2630 detainees were tortured to death and 70,000 cases documented as enforced disappearance.
In mid 2013, 55,000 photos smuggled out of Syria by a former Syrian military police photographer gave a glimpse of some of the abuses being committed in Syrian jails.
The digital images of 11,000 dead detainees showed emaciated bodies and the defector, identified only as Ceasar, described seeing corpses with "deep wounds and burns and strangulations.
Syria is not a member of the International Criminal Court. The only way the court could prosecute someone from Syria would be through a referral from the United Nations Security Council.
Zaman al-Wasl deliberately insists to show victims' faces, so their families and relatives can recognize them. 
Syria's four-year-old war has killed more than 220,000 people and forced millions out of their homes.
