16 killed in Assad airstrikes on Idlib: activists

At least 16 civilians were killed Sunday in Syrian regime's air strikes on the newly-liberated city of Idlib and its countryside, activists said.

Activists reported 9 people killed in Kafr Takharim town, mostly from one family, as 7 others were killed in Idlib city, Ma'arrat Masreen, Taftanaz and Saraqeb towns.

The hysterical bombardment by Bashar al-Assad's air forces has begun week ago, when an alliance of Islamist rebel factions seized control of the city of Idlib.

Activists and monitoring groups have documented more than 104 people killed in nine days.

Meanwhile, civil society and Fatah Army commanders have worked to gain back the normal life of the captured Idlib. But the daily bombardment pushed thousands of people to flee the city.
