“Complete destruction of insurgent-held areas in general and Aleppo in particular, supported by Suadi Arabia, Qatar, is what I demand in the name of Syrian people” Ahmad Hassoun, Syria's Grand Mufti Ahmed Badr al-Din al-Hassoun said week ago.
Hassoun demanded to move from defence to attacking and destroy each neighbourhood had a bullet thrown from.
Definitely the Syrian regime does not need a Mufti to give it a permission for dystroying Aleppo, especially when it is getting liberated, but Hassoun gives the religious cover to kill civilians under claims of protecting Muslims and Islam.
After Hassoun’s speech in front of the European Parliament on January 2008 on the subject of intercultural dialogue, he greeted attendees with “Shalom”, the Jewish and Israeli way of greeting, and condemned killing Israeli children and he defended the land of peace, Israel and Palestine, and added: “it is wrong to use religion to justify killing.”
Zaman al-Wasl at the time warned of Hassoun, and his mean and evil words and intensions.
To analyze Hassoun’s speech, after visiting Hassoun's website, it was found that the version of speech on the site was different from the one given in front of the European parliament, especially sentences related to Israel which could have defame him and the Syrian president. The Israeli word was changed into non-Palestinian, and took off the word “Shalom” and took off the words “Israel” from the sentence “the peace land, Israel and Palestine.”
Zaman al-Wasl analysed the speech and put the two copies to show his deception.
Despite Ahmad Hassoun is the Sunni Mufti, but he serves the Syrian regime and Shiite more, as he helped in spreading Shiism in Syria. He adopted the idea that Muslim Caliphates had aggrieved Al al-bayt and Sunni scholars and clerics had hidden the matter.
People in Aleppo claim that Hassoun has turned into Shiite long time ago.
It is expected from a sneaky person like Hassoun to support al-Assad and his “Shabiha”. His words in his message to them in Nubul and Zahra in November 2014, when he described “Shabiha” as: “the pride of Islam and Muslims, and their defending of Nubel and Zahra is equal to defending al-Quds.”
Two questions to the civilised world that counters Terrorism: why the European countries did nothing when Hassoun threatened of sending Suicide bombers to the continent; and second, why the European countries did not move or condemned his calls to destroy Aleppo and demolish it over its people?
Rebel-held parts of Aleppo have faced regular air strikes by the Syrian military. A U.N. commission of enquiry on Syria has recorded the intense use of barrel bombs - improvised bombs dropped by helicopter - by government forces in the city.
More than 220,000 Syrians have lost their lives in four years of armed conflict, which began with anti-government protests before escalating into a full-scale civil war.
