(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 15 civilians have been killed on Saturday in Russian air strikes on rebel-held Aleppo, activists said.
Seven people were killed in al-Sakhour neighborhood when Russian warplanes fired vacuum missile into the local marketplace, Zaman al-Wasl reporter said.
8 more people have been killed in Ma'rasset al-Khan town in the northern countryside.
The main opposition bloc, the Syrian National Coalition, said in a report that it had documented the deaths of 1,730 civilians due to Russian air strikes since their launch in September 2015.
At least 135 children were among those killed, the coalition said, adding that over 29 hospitals were destroyed in the strikes, in addition to schools, homes and places of worship.
Russia says its target is ISIS and other "terrorists", adding that the report was biased and contained ungrounded claims.
In their turn, rebels said they thwarted regime attack on Khan Touman, killing 15 soldiers.
Rebels have also taken control of Ghazel Mazraa town north of Aleppo from the Islamic State. Dozens of ISIS fighters reported killed and wounded while number of them were held in captivity.
In the Eastern province of Deir Ezzor, at least 35 Syrian soldiers and pro-regime militiamen were killed on Saturday in a multi-front attack by ISIS on the eastern city of Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said
The Observatory said the jihadist group had advanced into the northern tip of the city and captured the suburb of al-Baghaliyeh.
The advance puts ISIS in control of around 60% of Deir Ezzor, with the regime holding the rest, according to the Britain-based monitor.
Syrian state news agency SANA said regime troops had repelled an ISIS attack on the area around al-Baghaliyeh and inflicted "heavy losses" on the group.
Deir Ezzor is the capital of Deir Ezzor province, an oil-rich region that borders Iraq and is mostly held by ISIS.
The regime has clung onto portions of the provincial capital and the adjacent military airport despite repeated ISIS attacks.
Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said heavy fighting was continuing on Saturday afternoon after the ISIS assault, which began with a suicide car bomb blast carried out by a member of the jihadist group.
Eight of the regime forces killed were shot dead in executions by ISIS, the Observatory added.
The group said Russian warplanes were carrying out heavy air strikes in support of regime forces as they sought to repel the ISIS advance.
More than 260,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict began in March 2011 with anti-government protests. (With agencies)
