After 3 days of continuous clashes and
killing more than 25 civilians in al-Waer, neighborhood of Homs, a truce to take
place between rebels and Assad army.
Activists reported to Zaman Alwasl, the truce will be a
sign of victory because the Army troops whose asked for it.
The latest skirmishes took place near to Elreqa, a pro-Assad town predominantly by Shia, where the rebels have captured a strategic district close to the town.
Two day ago, al-Shabiha, Pro-Assad militia has breached similar truce in al-Waer which was supposed to open all blocked crossings what allows people breaking the siege after 3 week of suffering, local sources told Zaman Alwasl.
Also, sources said that 7 people have
been killed, including two women and child girl by Assad artillery shelling on
al-Waer neighborhood.
In relevant context, a prominent rebel
commander in al-Waer, Abdul Karim al-Adawi has been killed during the last
clashes with Assad Army.
Assad forces, baked with Shabiha,
have tightened the grip on the city of Homs, 90 miles, for its
strategic crossing linking the capital with army bases in coastal regions
controlled by Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shi'ite Islam that has dominated
majority Sunni Syria since the 1960s.
Syria's conflict began in March 2011
largely as peaceful protests against Assad's rule. It escalated into a civil
war after opposition supporters took up arms to fight a brutal government
crackdown on dissent.
More than 115,000 people have been
killed in the conflict, according to the U.N.'s recent estimate.
