Kurdish Asayish bans teachers from entering schools in Hasaka

(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Asayish Militia, security arm of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) banned on Sunday administrative staff and teachers affiliated to the Education Ministry of the regime from entering schools located in areas under its control with the start of the new school year 2017-2018.

According local sources, the Asayish gunmen prevented teachers and affiliated with regime Education Ministry from entering schools in Hasaka after Asayish took over primary and secondary education schools in preparation for the Kurdish self-administration curriculum.

The sources pointed out that (PYD) militants deployed in the vicinity of schools to prevent the party non-affiliated cadres from entering and violators are subjected to humiliation, pointing to the objection of a group of people to the decision at the school Naim Laji in Gueran neighborhood and ended with the arrival of a patrol of elements of the Asayish militia.

The sources confirmed that the parents did not send their children to school yet, while some village schools are still closed.

The governor of Hasakah, Jaiz al-Mousa, the director of education and the heads of all educational complexes met two days ago on preparations to start the new academic year using the curriculum of the Ministry of Education in Damascus government, according to loyal sources.

The governor directed the heads of educational complexes to teach the curriculum of the Ministry of Education and follow up the educational process, even on the sidewalks or in homes after Asayish closed the a large number of school buildings in the province.

The self-administration of (PYD) had announced that about 13,000 teachers and schools were trained to practice teaching in schools under their control during the current school year starting Monday.

On Tuesday, (PYD) opened its doors to new students after rejecting the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)'s offer to hand over 2,000 schools in the province of Hasakah to the international organization to end the problem of the curriculum between (PYD) and Syrian regime.
