21 forces from Tartus province killed in two weeks

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 21 regime troops from Tartus province were killed in two weeks by the Islamic State and Tahrir al-Sham jihadist groups, according to pro-regime news feeds.

The death toll included 10 officers and 11 soldiers killed in Deir Ezzor, Hama and Eastern Ghouta suburbs.

The Alawites-dominated coastal region was, and still, the main manpower supply for Bashar al-Assad's regime. The mourning posters have been sweeping the streets and pro-regime social media of coastal province.

Last November, at least 218 troops from pro-regime areas were killed, according to activists.

More than 119,000 pro-regime forces have been killed, including 62,000 Syrian troops, tens of thousands of loyalist militiamen, and 1,556 fighters from Hezbollah, according to a new estimate by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
