(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 34 troops from coastal Latakia province have been killed in the last two weeks by Daesh and former al-Qaeda group in the southern neighborhoods of Damascus, pro-regime news feeds said.
The militant groups showed fierce resistance as death toll among regime ranks reached a total of 250 since mid of April.
The Alawites-dominated areas are still the main manpower supply for Bashar al-Assad's regime. The mourning posters and statements have been sweeping the streets and social media pages.
More than 125,000 pro-regime forces have been killed in seven years of brutal war, according to local monitoring groups.
