The Saudi
preacher Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Moheisini has accused the Islamic State of
Iraq and The Levant (ISIL) of foiling his Initiative which called for an
immediate ceasefire with Islamist rebels after one month of fighting.
Al-Moheisini,
based in Aleppo province, has expressed shock in a statement posted online for
what he had seen and heard by the ISIL militants who insisted to fight rebels
and more over to put them in the levels of enmity with Bashar Al Assad’s forces.
Moheisini also
said in video statement that he had documented many abuses by ISIL as killing
civilians and bombing water resources and many life utilities, wondering what is
the reason behind to do such acts.
The Islamic
State of Iraq and The Levant (ISIL) said that it had never rejected Sheikh
al-Moheisini‘s proposal for reconciliation, The Victorious Party In the Land of
Ash-Sham, pro-ISIL group, said in a statement posted on its social media pages
The ISIL never
rejected Sheikh al-Moheisini's proposal but asked to questions prior to any
agreement, the statement said.
The
statement came as a response to video statement last Monday by Sheikh Abu
Abdullah Al Hamawi (Hassan Abboud), leader of Ahrar Al Sham and the political
head of Islamic Front, accused the the State of
refusing the initiative.
The ISIl has described the Supreme Military
Council (SMC) and the Syrian National Coalition (SNC) as apostates, “as they
are working with the enemies of Islam and taking directives from them. So,
their ruling towards them will be different then someone who views them as
Muslims,” the statement said.
ISIL
effectively condemned insurgent factions for working with foreign governments
and their intelligence services, asking for “the lawful manner” of dealing with
the opposition factions.
Nearly 1,400
people have been killed in Syria since clashes between rebel forces and the
jihadist (ISIL) erupted this month, AFP reported.
“The number
of people killed in fighting between the ISIL and rebel forces since January 3
has risen to 1,395,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
Clashes
between rebels and jihadists from ISIL erupted early in January after months of
rising tensions.
In relevant development, Al-Qaeda's general command
has disavowed all links with the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL),
according to a statement posted online.
The
statement, published late on Sunday, reiterated a previous peremptory statement
in which the group's chief Ayman al-Zawahiri ordered ISIL to disband and return
to Iraq, and adding that Jabhat al-Nusra was al-Qaeda's official branch in
Syria.
"Al-Qaeda
announces it is not linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, as it
was not informed of its creation [and] did not accept it," read Sunday's
statement, which criticised ISIL's mode of operations.
ISIL
"is not a branch of al-Qaeda, has no links to it, and the [al-Qaeda] group
is not responsible for its acts," it added.
"We
affirm our disavowal from the sedition that is occurring in Syria between
factions of jihadists, and from the blood that was shed by any party," it
said.
