Landmines kill 10 al-Qaeda members in Idlib

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 10 jihadists were killed when they trapped in a landmine field near a regime army post in northern Idlib province, local activists said Monday.

The fighters of Horras al-Din, or the Guardian of the Religion, an al-Qaeda-affiliated group, were trying late on Sunday to infiltrate to regime army bastion in the town of Luwaibdah in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

, Also in northern Syria, 11 Tahrir al-Sham members, former al-Qaeda branch Syria, were killed in eastern countryside of Aleppo.
  
Idlib has been a haven for tens of thousands of rebels and 2.3mn civilians who were forced to abandon their homes in other parts of western Syria that the regime and its foreign military allies have recaptured from rebels.

Syria has been locked in a devastating war since March 2011, when the Bashar al-Assad regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests with unexpected ferocity. UN and local monitoring groups says more than 400,000 people have been killed and million have been displaced.
