(Zaman Al Wasl)- At last 11 civilians were wounded in car bomb blast in northeastern Hasaka province, State-run news agency reported Thursday.
The attack took place near the church of the Virgin Mary in the Kurdish-majority city of Qamishli, according to SANA.
The explosion caused material damage to parts of the church, shops and cars.
Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphram II has condemned the attack, saying the perpetrators of the explosion aim to create an atmosphere of worry and chaos among citizens and destabilize the situation in the region, SANA said.
The Islamic State (ISIS), or Daesh, has claimed the responsibility for a series of car bombs attacks in northeastern Syria, saying four Kurdish Democratic Union fighters were killed in blast on Thursday.
