(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Syrian regime military uncovered Thursday a mass grave containing the bodies of 13 soldiers in southern Daraa province.
The corpses inside the mass grave were believed to be soldiers served in the Brigade 61 near the town of Nawa.
Local activists said regime forces had killed the soldiers over a failed defection attempt, not by rebels.
More than 130,000 pro-regime forces have been killed since the armed conflict erupted eight years ago with the brutal repression of protests against Bashar al-Assad, according to local monitoring groups.
Syria's war has killed more than 560,000 people and displaced millions since it started in 2011 with a brutal crackdown on anti-regime protests.
