(Zaman Al Wasl)- Head of the Air Force Intelligence in southern Daraa province was found dead on Monday morning, pro-regime activists said.
Colonel Soleiman Hammoud died of a heart attack in his home, according to the initial reports.
Activists doubted the death reason, saying the 'young' officer may have been assassinated.
Hamound, originally from Tartus province -Bashar al-Assad's main manpower supply- famed for his brutality and committing war crimes against the Syrian people during his service in the notorious security services.
More than 130,000 pro-regime forces have been killed since the armed conflict erupted eight years ago with the brutal repression of protests against Bashar al-Assad, according to local monitoring groups.
The conflict in Syria has also killed more than 560,000 people and displaced 6.5 millions.
