(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 375 displaced, mostly women and children, have left the Kurdish-run al-Arisha camp in the northeastern province of Hasaka, heading their hometowns in Deir Ezzor province, activists told Zaman al-Wasl.
Local sources confirmed to Zaman al-Wasl that a convoy of 40 vehicles left the Qana camp, also known as "al-Sad" camp in al-Arisha town, carrying 371 displaced people, including children and women returning to their hometowns in Deir Ezzor province.
Thursday’s evacuation followed an agreement brokered by the Kurdish administration and Arab tribal leaders in Deir Ezzor.
So far, 4971 displaced have left Qana camp in five batches due to tribal mediation.
Living conditions in the Kurdish-held camps are extremely critical according to the U.N.’s food program, as disease and malnutrition have plagued its inhabitants, particularly children.
Syria's war has killed more than 560,000 people and displaced millions since it started in 2011 with a brutal crackdown on anti-regime protests.
