At least two people were killed and 13 others injured on Wednesday in a tribal fight between in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor province, which is controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), local sources told Zaman al-Wasl.
The infighting erupted as a result of the outbreak of tribal fighting between cousins from the Al-Bu Jamal clan affiliated with the Al-Aqeidat tribe in the town of Al-Shahil in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
The sources confirmed that the tribal fighting resulted in the burning of 9 houses between the two families, amid security tensions in the region, without any intervention by the SDF.
Since the beginning of this year 2024, the provinces of Deir Ezzor, Raqqa and Hasakah have witnessed dozens of tribal fighting that resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries within the areas controlled by the SDF forces, without any actual intervention to end these fighting, which are increasing in frequency day after day, cases of revenge are left behind.
