The Turkish capital Ankara will host consultative talks between Turkish and British officials on Monday to discuss the Syrian file and regional issues of common interest.
According to diplomatic sources, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz and British Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan Hamish Faulkner will chair the consultation sessions, which will focus on security and stability in Syria, in addition to the country's economic situation.
The Turkish side is expected to convey its aspirations for the future of Syria, stressing the need for the international community to support steps to achieve national reconciliation under a central government, and calling for the lifting of sanctions on Syria to enhance reconstruction and economic development.
The talks will also address the importance of fighting terrorism in Syria, and stopping repeated Israeli violations of the country's sovereignty.
