War criminal returns to Syria illegally to sell his "real estate fortune"

Zaman al-Wasl learned from private sources that Samir Kahla, one of the most dangerous leaders of the National Defense militia in the city of Saidnaya, recently returned to Syria illegally. He settled in his hometown before moving to the capital, Damascus, using a forged identity, under the protection of the "Hout" gang, a remnant of armed National Defense militias.

Samir is the older brother of Nabil Kahla, the leader of the National Defense militia in Saidnaya, and serves as the militia's financial officer and treasurer. Confirmed information indicates that he has amassed a huge real estate fortune during the war years.

Zaman al-Wasl reports that Kahla returned to Syria to liquidate and sell his real estate holdings, along with 25 luxury cars registered in his name, before permanently leaving the country for an undisclosed destination.

Zaman al-Wasl obtained official documents proving Samir Kahla's ownership of more than 60 homes and dozens of plots of land, all purchased after 2011. This confirms the source of this wealth and its connection to financing militia activities.

In its upcoming report, Zaman al-Wasl will reveal details of a judicial attempt to seize Kahla's assets, and how a judicial figure refused to issue the seizure order.
