(Zaman Al Wasl)- Commander of Islam Army, in a press conference held in Douma city, vowed Syrian regime by more surprises, a day after targeting the capital by 100 rockets and killing 15 people.
Zaharan Alloush, the commander of the Islamist faction which controls Eastern Ghouta suburbs, revealed that rebels wanted to make a ‘balance of terror’ as Syrian regime air force has been shelling Damascus suburbs for over 3 years relentlessly.
Alloush, 44 year-old, also said that rockets attack came in response to Hamoria massacre in the embattled Ghouta where 70 people had been killed.
The former Islamist prisoner, who released in Bashar al-Assad’s amnesty in 2011, assured that what happened on Sunday is just the beginning. “We are preparing for an earth-shaking surprise,” he added.
Alloush, in previous tweet on his official Twitter account, demanded ‘Muslims, to stay at home and not going to their work. Alloush said "I will not attack mosques, churches and schools."
On Sunday, Katyusha missiles and hand-made rockets of Sahm al-Islam have targeted what Islam Army claimed security bases in Kafr Sousa suburb and the upscale neighborhood of al-Maliki besides the Alawite-dominated district of Mezzah 86.
Experts say Islam Army has controlled most of regime’s rocket launchers and very effective missile system what can express real concerns by Basher al-Assad regime.
In retaliation, Syrian regime air force carried out violent raids on Eastern Ghouta suburbs of Douma, Zebdin and Jobar.
Alloush accused Syrian regime of targeting some suburbs in Damascus to stick the charge by Islam Army and to gain more support.
Alloush said sarcastically in his official Twitter account on Sunday evening that he lifted the curfew on Damascus until further notice.”
Islam Army commander also said that rockets hit Dumeir military air base and a military base in al-Qutaifa in Damascus countryside
The Syrian crisis began nearly four years ago with an uprising against Assad and then turned into a civil war. So far, 220,000 people have been killed.
