Change and Reform parliamentary bloc leader, MP Michel Aoun, said the solution for the Syrian refugees influx does not lie in bringing donations but rather to grant their return home, voicing concern over the Lebanese people "who are the ones suffering from inhumanity".
Aoun said he was not opposed to the ongoing engagement of Hezbollah in Syria as long as a political solution has not been reached yet, addressing those advocating the Syrian rebels by saying "they have liberated Syria from its residents, not from the tyranny they claim to be fighting."
The FPM leader held the ministers of interior and defense and the Higher Defense Council accountable for the ongoing refugees crisis, slamming those "preaching us about being humane, while they are facilitating the access of arms into Syria".
Aoun accused Arab countries of arming and supporting Syrian rebels while leaving the people homeless.
Aoun stressed he won't run for presidency, saying "if they want me as a president, then they are welcome to do so. I won't go to anyone and ask to elect me".
As for the cabinet formation, the FPM leader stressed he won't accept to partake in a cabinet "in which my ministers are named by the president and the PM-designate".
He also labeled dialogue before forming a cabinet as fruitless, adding that the FPM might attend the parliamentary session set to take place in October.
Aoun said that self-security "does not last and it does not scare me", adding that it was the result of the authorities leniency and powerlessness.
