Love in the Time of Revolution, Naya and Hussein

(Zaman al-Wasl)- ‘Love in the Time of Revolution’, can be the title of Naya’s letter to one of Zaman al-Wasl reporters as the latter moved to cover war in another hotspot far from Eastern Ghouta suburbs where the Damascene girl lives.

Naya, who fell in love with the former reporter of Zaman al-Wasl in Eastern Ghouta, has sent a brief message to the newspaper asking about the her beloved journalist who changed his destination to report atrocities from other battlefront in Syria.

Naya, in French and Arabic handwriting, has summoned her feelings, saying to Hussein al-Shishakli, who uses pseudonym for fear of reprisals, ‘Be good, wish you get this message.’

Zaman opined to publish the letter, perhaps to show how Syrians in the war-torn country.are insisting to pursuit happiness and hope as a way to survive.

The old-fashioned letter in comparing to the Social Media world was due the lack of Internet in the besieged Eastern Ghouta suburbs which have been under siege for more than a year, and under near-constant bombardment for months.
